Strathclyde Fusion

Strathclyde Fusion is the Association radio station which gives students a platform from which to showcase their talents. Strathclyde Fusion’s website supports audio, visual and text mediums as well as streaming internet radio Monday to Friday.  Content is dependent on the students involved and could include news, entertainment and music.

What do Strathclyde Fusion volunteers do?

There are various roles within Strathclyde Fusion for volunteers to get involved mainly on air (presenting, research, technical and ensuring the radio station runs smoothly).   The station is also run by a committee of volunteers who are elected each year.

What experience is needed and what commitment is expected?

No experience is necessary but an interest in journalism, creative writing, music, audio and visual production or presenting would be helpful.  Volunteers are expected to attend planning and group meetings

What resources and support is available?

Strathclyde Fusion is given an annual budget by the Student Representative Council (SRC), office space on Level 7 of the Union Building and a radio studio based in the St Paul’s Annexe. Support is directly available from the Station Manager, the Fusion Committee, the Student Media and Marketing Officer, the Vice President Student Development and the Student Activities Development Co-ordinator.

What will volunteers get out of it?

There are many benefits including the opportunity to meet new people, work as part of a team, build confidence and manage your time, learn various media skills and the chance to showcase talents.

How do I join and where can I find out more?

Contact the Station Manager at manager@strathclydefusion.com or pop into the Media Centre in Level 7 of the Union Building for more details.  www.strathclydefusion.com
