Strathclyde University Capoeira Angola

Strathclyde University Capoeira Angola

Club Aim 1: Capoeira is a Brazilian martial arts that combines

fight, acrobatics, music and dance. The aim is to introduce

Strathclyde University students to Capoeira Angola. We would do

this through weekly sessions including, practicing physical

fitness, movements, music instruments, singing and understand

their role within the game of Capoeira.

Club Aim 2: Involve students in the wider capoeira community in

Scotland and worldwide! The group run regular more advanced

classes and open/mixed events with practitioners from across the

country and beyond, which we would encourage students to attend

and use to inform their growth in the art.

Club Aim 3: Hosting events, inviting our two main teachers (one

from Brazil and one from Greece) to Glasgow for weekend workshops

which continue the focus on basics but also provide time, space

and support to go deeper into the practice. Students would be

encouraged to attend and provided discounts to encourage this.
