What do we campaign on and what does this achieve?
We campaign on issues which affect students. In the past the National Union of Students (NUS) of which your Union is a member has successfully campaigned to scrap the Graduate Endowment Tax for students, prevented the introduction of Top Up and Tuition Fees into Universities.
Campaigns have also focused on student’s rights at work, accommodation rights, academic rights and feedback times, green campaigns, highlighting and boycotting the use of companies who have behaved unethically as well as liberation and civic rights. Our Liberation groups also run campaigns throughout the year on issues such as tackling homophobia and challenging the stigmas associated with mental ill-health.
Campaigning allows us to achieve our goals of changing things for the better, meet new friends, develop new skills and have fun along the way!
