Communications & Marketing Team

The Communications & Marketing Team (CMT) conducts surveys and opinion polls on the services offered by the Union to ensure they are meeting student needs. The CMT also works with other groups and activities on marketing strategy to ensure their events are visible, well publicised and well attended.

What do CMT volunteers do?
The team has different areas in which students can participate:

Market Research – Conduct surveys and opinion polls and co-ordinate focus groups to gain feedback on services.

Marketing Strategy – Liaising with various groups and activities to offer advice and guidance on how best to promote themselves and the events they are organising.

What experience is needed and what commitment is expected?
No experience is necessary as full training will be given to all members. All that is needed is enthusiasm and determination. There is no minimum time expected of members, they can help out as and when possible.

What resources and support is available?
The CMT is given an annual budget by the Services Forum to fund its activities and daily running.  Support is offered by the Vice President of Services and the Communications Department.

What will volunteers get out of it?
Students will be able to develop many skills in promotion and market research which may be invaluable in every day life, along with looking great on a CV. The opportunity to get involved and meet new friends is also an added bonus.

How do I join and where can I find out more?
Contact the Communications & Marketing Team Convenor at here or pop into Level 7 of the Union Building.
