First and foremost - Investing in Volunteers

2009 saw the University of Strathclyde Students' Association become the first Scottish Union, and one of the first 50 institutions in Scotland to achieve the Investing in Volunteers (IIV) award.

The Association was formally awarded IIV status at the annual Student Executive Ceremony 'Exec Meets Exec' on June 3rd by Anne Hislop IIV Manager for Scotland.

The nationwide award was formally given Government recognition in March 2005 and recognises organisations' commitment to high-quality volunteer involvement and good practice in volunteer management.

Ben Docherty, Vice President Student Development 08/09 and Carole McGreish Student Development Co-ordinator who have helped USSA to attain the national quality standards were "delighted to receive the award."
