How many Reps should I elect and when?

Rep Logo

How Many Reps?
A good recommendation is to elect 1 class rep for every 50 students. However, some classes/course find it helpful if they have a pair of student reps to represent their peers even if there are not 100 students in the class/course. This way the student reps can work together and ensure that they are more representative of their class. Other very large classes/course find that having too many student reps can be unmanageable so adopt  a system of representation with slightly less than 1 rep per 50 students.

When?
Class/Course Reps need to be elected by the beginning of the 3rd week of the semester. By ensuring timely elections and feeding the names of the Reps back to your department administrator and to USSA , Class Reps will be fully informed of and have the opportunity to enrol in induction or top-up training that takes place in the 4th and 5th week of each semester.

Please email ussa.classreps@strath.ac.uk with the names of the class reps elected in your class -OR-
