Award Winners!

Double win for Strathclyde at the triple S awards!

University of Strathclyde Students’ Association (USSA) were proud winners at the Scottish Student Sport Awards last week (14th June) as we scooped 4 stars, the highest awarded on the night in the Healthy Body Healthy Mind Awards.

The joint initiative from Scottish Student Sport (SSS) and NUS encourages Sports Unions to take the lead to encourage students to use sport and physical activity as a way to improve their mental wellbeing.
Strathclyde were one of only two institutions in Scotland to gain an award in last year’s pilot scheme and one of only a handful from the 14 who took part to achieve the four out of five stars.

Hosted by Edinburgh University in their Playfair Library as part of the SSS Annual Conference three further awards were presented on the night by adventurer Mark Beaumont for Sports Person of the Year, Team of the Year and Volunteer of the Year which was scooped by USSA’s Iain Stewart for his contribution to Student Sport sector over the last year.
