Where to obtain contraception

About C Card
C card is a service in Glasgow offering you free access to a range of condoms with minimum embarrassment. Condoms are important as they can help prevent you catching or passing on HIV, STIs and also prevent against unintended pregnancies.

How does it work?
To get your free condoms you will need to register at ASK (on level 5 of the Students' Union) or other C Card registration sites throughout Glasgow . Once you have registered you can then pick up free condoms from any of the distribution sites (ASK). We offer the C-Card service to students and staff aged over 16 on John Anderson and Jordanhill campuses. To find all the distribution sites visit www.sandyford.org or call 0141 211 8600.

How do I register?
You can come along to ASK at either campus where you will be able to register. The only information you will be asked to supply is the first part of your postcode and your date of birth - this is used solely for monitoring purposes and will not be used in any other way or passed to anyone other than the C-Card co-ordinator. You will also have a chance to have a private and confidential chat about any condom, sexual health or relationship issues, if you would find it helpful.

What happens once I've registered?
You can go along to any of the distribution sites. All you will need to do is show you C-Card and you will be shown a selection card to pick the kind of condoms you are looking for. You will not need to say anything to any of the staff if you don't want to. You will then be given the condoms you are looking for.

What condoms and other products are available?

Trim
A snug tighter fitting condom.

Naturelle
Shaped condoms for a more comfortable fit.

Large
A large fitting condom.

Extra Strong
A straight fitting condom with teat. It has twice the strength of a standard condom. These condoms offer the safety of a stronger condom and the reassurance of the British Standards Certification.

Flavoured
Specially provided for those who wish to make oral sex safer. Comes in chocolate, mint, banana, blueberry, vanilla & strawberry.

Dams
Specially provided for those who wish to make oral sex safer. Comes in chocolate, mint, banana, blueberry, vanilla & strawberry

Lube
Water based lubricant provided in sachets are especially recommended for anal sex.

Using lubricant can make sex feel more comfortable and more exciting. It can reduce the chances of the condom tearing but be sure to use the right kind of lubricants. Oil based lubricants such as vaseline or baby oil perish the condom.

Femidoms
Made from polyurethane, a Femidom is a disposable, odourless sheath, specially designed for women. A femidom may be used with both oil based and water based lubricants.
