University of Strathclyde Labour Club

Labour students campaign at local and national level on issues of social justice. Regular meetings take place on campus with various politicians to debate and form policy. There are social gatherings after all meetings where members can meet students from clubs all over the country.

Scottish Labour Students is an autonomous organisation, affiliated to the Scottish Labour Party. We believe in the social democratic philosophy of the Labour Party, which can be summed up by clause 4 of the Labour Party Constitution:

"by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us
the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are
in the hands of the many and not the few. Where the rights we enjoy reflect the the duties we owe. And where
we live together, freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect."

Because we are an autonomous organisation, Scottish Labour Students have the ability to develop our own independent policies and run our own campaigns.

We form policy at conference and council, where members can take part in open floor debates.
