The Strathclyde Students' Union Freshers' Week kick-starts the academic year as all of our new students arrive to start their courses, as well as familiarise themselves with their new friends, colleagues, housemates and their Students' Union.

Freshers' Week has become an un-missable opportunity for organisations to target students as they start university life, becoming students for the next four years, or longer. We can guarantee access to Strathclyde students for organisations wishing to target them here at the University of Strathclyde Students' Union. Our Students' Union is run by students for students and only we can guarantee that your message will reach all the people you want it to. Strathclyde Students' Union is the largest Students' Association in Scotland . We provide top student oriented entertainment, including Live Music Nights, Stand-up Comedy, Pool Competitions, monthly theme nights and our legendary long running student nights,including TFI with DJ Phil. Our food and services provision are excellent with our catering team providing top quality food from all over the world. We have excellent conference facilities, retail outlets, an award winning newspaper, a student-run radio station, Ask the advice and support service, RAG, our Sports Union and a large selection of Clubs and Societies. Throughout the year we hold various events,but we know that the biggest and best way to kick off the academic year is to be a part of our Freshers' week.

Freshers' Fairs

Meet Strathclyde students face-to-face and target your products and services to the student market.

During Freshers' Week we run lively fairs which are extremely popular with students and organisations hoping to target students. Our fairs are run for our students to provide them with information and allowing organisations to target our students with their message, products and services.

Traders Fair 2008

This will give you and your organisation a valuable opportunity to meet your target market. In addition to our main space at the fair, we can also offer rooms for hire just off from the main hall. These are a few feet away from the main arena, but allow you the space to target students away from competing stall holders. From an internet cafe to a mini fashion store, the rooms are flexible enough to suit your needs. Power points can be made available on request for our Freshers' Fair. Also, don't forget the Jordanhill Campus which has its own Fair and Freshers' Week! Freshers' Mailing and Goody Bags

Target new students before they arrive at the University

Every year we mail 5,000 welcome packs to our new first year, postgraduate and international students at their home addresses. The welcome packs are delivered directly to them two weeks prior to their arrival on campus. Organisations can include flyers or leaflets (up to A4 size); postcards; money off vouchers or "freebies" targeted to our students. Our welcome packs are very popular as they guarantee direct access to students, but space is limited. Book early to guarantee availability!

During Freshers' Week we also give out up to 5000 goody bags to Students. There are opportunities to place flyers, free samples, vouchers etc in the goody bags.
