“No Holloway it happened here!”

The University of Strathclyde Students’ Association was wrongly named by sources across the media as the venue where security staff injured a member of the band The Holloways’.

The University of Strathclyde Students’ Association (USSA) refutes claims made by several sources that Holloways' bassist/vocalist Bryn Fowler broke his hand in an altercation with security staff after their gig at The Union, 90 John Street on Monday 12th May.

The Tour Manager for The Holloways’ Tre Stead has confirmed that the incident actually occurred at The Garage nightclub where the band had gone after the gig. She added:

“We had a fantastic time at The Union, the staff at Strathclyde are absolutely lovely…We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused them.”

The claims made by www.nme.com, www.thesun.co.uk, www.virginradio.co.uk and The Sun newspaper have frustrated all involved at USSA. Lawrence West, Vice President Operational & Commercial Services notes that:

“Incidents of this nature are thankfully incredibly rare in The Union and much of this success can be attributed to the strong rapport that our stewarding team develops with customers.”

As experts in the field of stewarding music events Alan Morton, Managing Director of Upfront Security is equally disappointed with the turn of events:

“The Union is a premier music venue; the crowd were great on Monday night, as was the gig.  This miscommunication from the bands’ press spokesperson about where this incident happened is deeply disappointing.”
