Class Rep Training

Class Rep training is an excellent way to introduce yourself to your new role as well as meet other Reps. The training sessions will equip you with the skills to engage students in your class, identify issues and communicate them with academic staff effectively. You will learn how your role fits in to the Union and University structures, be given examples of the impact class reps have had on education at Strathclyde and identify key contacts who can support you in your role. The sessions will be very interactive (no boring lectures here!).

Training sessions are open to any rep, whether they're brand new to the role or have done it previously, and are suitable for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. Whilst they are primarily designed to introduce new reps to the role, anyone who fancies a refresher on their skills and knowledge is welcome to sign up to a session and come along. Completing training is expected by your departments, it is therefore strongly recommended that all first time reps come along to one of the sessions.

Sessions will run from 5.30pm-8pm but in the interests of accessibility, this year we've introduced two afternoon sessions.

All training sessions will take place on campus, either in Livingstone Tower or Graham Hills Building. Check the session in the dropdown below for the exact location

Registration is easy, just fill out the form below. We will only run training sessions that have 5 students registered by Monday the 10th of October at 12noon.
