At the beginning of the student year there are gaps in the ranks of the Big Band due to members having left the Uni, and gaps occasionally arise during the year.

Consequently we are always on the look out for potential new members!

Previous experience of big band music is not necessary. Improvisational ability is welcome but not essential.

The Band's repertoire includes adaptations of charts played by leading American big bands (such as Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton and Woody Herman). We are not a dance band!

We rehearse on Mondays at 6.45pm.

Regular gigs include gigs at Cafe Source from February to June, two or three gigs during a weekend tour in March, and concerts in the Uni during the year.
