USSA Volunteer Awards Nominations 2016/17

The Student Volunteer Awards ceremony is the most prestigious event of the year for USSA Volunteers and will take place on Wednesday 22nd March 2017!

The aim of the event is to formally reward and recognise individuals and groups who have gone above and beyond for their peers and within communities. Strathclyde Volunteers are defined as “students who give their time freely for the benefit of others”

We need your help to identify who is worthy of this recognition and ask you to nominate by completing the form below. 

Nominations Open Wednesday 5th October 2016 - Close Friday 10th March 2017 - 11am

All shortlisted Volunteers , Reps, Clubs & Societies and Sports will be invited to the Awards Ceremony!

Criteria

Newcomer of the Year: An individual student who started volunteering with USSA this academic year and has demonstrated exceptional ability, drive and passion for activities within and on behalf of the Union.

Criteria

Activist of the Year: An individual student who has demonstrated the highest level of passion and commitment to social justice and who leads by example, inspires others and acts with integrity.

Criteria

Best New Club: A Club or Society which has had an exceptional first year in operation at USSA. Factors for success could include popularity of Club, enjoyment levels, community engagement, exceptional organisation or anything which makes the Club special or stand out.

Best Community Project of the Year: A project which has actively engaged with a community to successfully meet needs or highlight issues to address issues. The project should have been organised using available volunteer resources to make a positive impact to student/local/national or international communities.

Criteria

Society of the Year: A Club or Society who has provided an outstanding service to its members and has made the most of its resources to benefit the student population and/or the community.

Criteria

Collaboration Award: A project or event which has involved a collaboration across multiple societies and has brought together the resources of the involved groups in order to reach a successful outcome. The outcome should be an event or project which was positively received by anyone that the collaboration concerned.

Criteria

Event of the Year: A student organised event which has surpassed expectations and demonstrated innovative ways of engaging others whilst raising awareness of the Union and a Club, Society or volunteer activity.

Criteria

Volunteer of the Year: An individual student who has demonstrated dedication, passion and enthusiasm to the Union and it's activities. Someone who has encouraged and helped others, been inclusive to all and exceeded expectations in their volunteering role.
